The Toymaker’s Dream

This is something I did, using a model. I worked on the theme ”Metamorphosis”. And looking at the model I wanted to see, and tell her story. Well, I’ve always liked to draw a little creepy things, so I thought I may exaggerate few things, and make not so real, but more dreamy, creepy images.

I started with making a lot of quick sketches, trying to figure out the right composition. At first, I had the idea to include the whole figure, but then I thought that just the face will express and suit my idea better.

Addiction – The Reader

And this is the final piece. I made it in drypoint technique, because I thought it will suit it best. The drypoint adds softness to the line, like a velvet feel to it, and this is the result I wanted to achieve.

Addiction - The Reader

This is the sketch I started with, it’s pen and ink drawing, but I thought it looks a bit empty. So on the final piece I put the black hair behind the mask, which I think, made it looks more complete.

Down the Rabbit Hole

I was inspired to do this piece by Tim Burton’s film “Alice in Wonderland”. It is more about my thoughts and feelings than closely following the scenario or the book.
The techniques employed were pencil drawing and Photoshop.
